Why Safety Harbor calls us

Most of what comes to us from Safety Harbor is a home machine that has been in the family a long time, along with small Main Street businesses that sew their own goods. Older machines nearly always need the same three things: the hardened grease cleaned out, fresh oil in the right places, and the hook timed back to the needle. We keep parts for models the stores stopped supporting years ago. Call (727) 321-9344 and we will tell you what to check before you load it in the car.

Questions from Safety Harbor customers

Should I drive it over, or have someone come out?

For a home machine, drive it over. It is about 15 minutes and you save the cost of a service call. On-site visits make more sense for industrial machines that cannot be moved.

Will you work on a machine that has not run since the 1970s?

Yes, that is normal work for us. Do not plug it in first if the cord is cracked or brittle. Bring it in and we will check the wiring before we ever put power to it.

Is my machine worth repairing?

Often, yes. Machines built years ago were made with metal parts and they last. Many of the ones we see just need a good cleaning, fresh oil and an adjustment. We look at it first and tell you what it needs and what it costs. If the repair costs more than the machine is worth, we say so and you decide.

Do you charge for an estimate?

No. Estimates are free. Bring the machine to the shop, we will look at it, and we will tell you the cost before any billed work is done.

Do I need an appointment?

No. Come by Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and drop the machine off. If you would rather call first, the number is (727) 321-9344.

Is your machine giving you trouble?

Call and tell us what it is doing. The estimate is free and you do not need the model number.
