How a repair works

  1. Call and tell us what you sew

    Quilts, garments, canvas, upholstery, alterations and light crafts all point to different machines. What you sew matters more than the brand on the front.

  2. Come sew on it

    Bring your own fabric and thread if you like. Sit down at the machine in the shop and sew before you decide. That is the only real test.

  3. Trade in or keep repairing

    If your old machine is worth fixing we will say so, even if you came in ready to buy. If it is not, we will take it in trade toward the one you choose.

Are your used machines serviced before you sell them?

Yes. A used machine gets cleaned, oiled, timed and test sewn before it goes out the door. We do not put out a machine we have not sewn on ourselves.

Do you take trade-ins?

Yes. Bring the machine in and we will look at it. What it is worth in trade depends on the machine, its condition, and what parts are still available for it.

Should I buy used or repair what I have?

Repair usually wins with older all-metal machines and with good quality machines under fifteen or twenty years old. Bring yours in for a free estimate and you will have real numbers to compare instead of a guess.

Do you sell industrial machines with tables?

Yes, used industrial heads set up on tables with clutch or servo motors, and new machines as well. We set the machine up and time it for the work you plan to do with it.
